October 5, 2009, Salt Lake City, Utah: As part of the continuing evolution of racing’s most sophisticated racecar and the opportunity to use the car as an educational tool demonstrating the potential of the electrification of transportation, Corsa Motorsports will exhibit the car at White Plaza at Stanford University on Wednesday of this week in conjunction with the University’s Automotive Affiliates Program and Center for  utomotive Research who is hosting a forum entitled: “GREEN RACING: The R&D of On- Track Innovation and Fuel Efficiencies”.

Steve Pruitt, team principal of Corsa Motosports will speak on the development of next generation of hybrid technology through motorsports.  The program will also include Dr. J. Christian Gerdes, Doctor/Professor of Mechanical Engineering, David Brabham the winning driver from the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans, American Le Mans Series founder Dr.  on Panoz, American Le Mans Series President Scott Atherton, Lord Paul Drayson the United Kingdom’s Minister of Science and Innovation, Doug Fehan, Program Manager for GM’s Corvette Racing Division and Dr. Sven Beiker, Executive Director of Center for Automotive Research at Stanford – CARS.

“Each opportunity we have to exhibit the car and speak about the hybrid technology that enabled us to be the first team to podium finish with a hybrid power plant provides us a unique opportunity to potentially influence the public’s perception of hybrids much as we have experienced with our Racing Into The Future educational experience we created earlier this year in conjunction with the National Academy Foundation to educate the next generation of consumers and drivers on the benefits of the technology and how it can assist the country in its quest for energy independence.” said Pruitt.

“We see opportunities such as Stanford and the Western Automotive Journalists event in November as the natural extension of sharing what we have learned and what is possible with this technology” added Pruitt. “We are just now beginning to attract the interest of some companies with either capital or technical expertise where we can provide the unique platform for development that could potentially have a positive impact on the country’s movement for the electrification of transportation initiative.”

After the Stanford event, Corsa will participate in the Monterey Sports Car Championships event at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway, the final race of the 2009 ALMS season October 8-10.
