The Corsa GZ-09-SH Hybrid LMP1 race car employs a kinetic energy recovery system that captures and transforms the kinetic energy of motion otherwise dispelled as thermal energy through the brakes converting the energy to DC voltage stored as chemical energy in a lithium-ion battery. The same electric motor is geared to the input shaft of the gearbox and when the car needs the use of the electric motor, the battery converts the stored chemical energy again to electrical energy which passes through an inverter where it is converted to AC current to drive the electric motor Click Here For Hybrid Components KERS.html
