Breast Cancer Awareness
As Corsa’s team owner, Tere Pruitt has become one of the more engaging personalities in the ALMS paddock. Masked behind the ever-present smile is a living example of trial, tribulation and triumph, Tere having now been a 15-year survivor of breast cancer. Steve Pruitt, her husband and team manager, has lost his mother and sister-in-law to the disease and through this common bond they have used the magnificence and exposure of their GT2 and LMP1 cars as a platform for extending awareness of the need for a cure for the disease that increasingly touches more and more lives every day. For that reason you will see the trademark pink ribbons prominently adorning each Corsa car or the trademark pink umbrella protecting the race car’s cockpit during pre-race ceremonies or the team wearing their symbolic pink shirts for each qualifying session.
